1. What is SWDM?

Short Wavelength Division Multiplexing (SWDM) technology extends the transmission wavelength of traditional multimode fiber from 850nm to 850nm-950nm. It multiplexes four wavelengths (850nm, 880nm, 910nm and 940nm) to a multi-mode fiber for transmission, saving fiber resources, while improving the effective mode bandwidth of the fiber, so that the transmission distance can be extended.

2. 100G SWDM4 Optical module

The QSFP28 100G SWDM4 optical module multiplexes optical signals of 4 different wavelengths (850nm, 880nm, 910nm and 940nm) to a link for transmission, using two parallel fibers, 1 receive and 1 transmit, each wavelength transmits 25G rate.
QSFP28 100G SWDM4MM 850nm optical transceiver module is designed for multi-mode 100G Ethernet links. For OM3, OM4 and OM5 multi-mode fiber 100G maximum transmission distance is 75m, 100m and 150m respectively. The QSFP28 100G SWDM4 optical module is a duplex LC interface.
